WE
REQUIRE :
This individual will become a member of a team of Unix System administrators responsible for supporting all aspects of our corporate Unix & Linux infrastructure, but will specialize in architecting and administering our SAN & Storage infrastructure. Other non-storage related activities include system administration for application & database servers and core infrastructure services (DNS, NIS, FTP, SMTP, Sendmail). A majority of day-to-day responsibilities will include architect, plan, implement, and support our production SAN and associated storage array infrastructure, including high availability fail over strategies and performance monitoring & tuning. You will be responding to all storage requests and allocating space as required. Will be working with the user community to accurately forecast capacity requirements in advance of need. Will also need to integrate products from SUN, Veritas, Hitachi and EMC. All IT administrators will share in "On Call Production Support" and you will participate in selecting and implementing new backup system and new storage management tools (SRM, HSM). |

JOB
DESCRIPTION :
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required and at least 6 years experience supporting Sun Solaris or SUN OS in a 24x7 production environment. Experience with Solaris, Veritas Cluster Server, and several different storage products (EMC, Hitachi) and the ability to design and administer high availability storage solutions is required. Must possess strong scripting skills, the ability to manage projects, and the ability to create presentations (using Visio) describing system architecture. Have a strong working knowledge of network protocols, network and system security along with Unix features such as NIS, NFS, DNS, and FTP and Linux. Must have the ability to work well under pressure with a strong customer focus and posses strong analytical and communication skills. Preferences: Experience with storage resource management tools and (SRM) & HSM are desired. Experience implementing backup solutions is also desired.
